My Background and Qualifications
After graduating with a first class BSc. Hons in Psychology, I worked as an Assistant Psychologist and Research Psychology Assistant in forensic settings and the NHS before completing a five year postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Edinburgh. During this time, I specialised in supporting adults with complex mental health presentations, working within inpatient and community NHS Scotland rehabilitation teams.
Before training as a psychologist, I completed a BSc. Hons Chemistry degree at the University of Durham and trained as a senior marketing manager in the financial services sector for nine years. I have an insight and understanding of the pressures of working in a corporate environment, which continues to add value to my clinical work today.
Outside of the therapy room, I can be found hiking about in the Wiltshire countryside, dodging herds of cows, braving some camping, enjoying time with family and friends, reading a good ‘Whodunnit’ or playing pickleball.
The values I hold include making a positive contribution to others, maintaining my passion for learning and doing my best to approach life with reflection, creativity and humour.
